Otago Cricket is the sporting body responsible for istering Cricket in the lower half of the South Island. Otago Cricket's responsibilities include the istration and promotion of cricket at all levels, grass roots through to our flagship Volts Sparks representative sides. Our goals are pretty simple, more players, better players and more supporters.
Our commitment to the amateur game includes being in schools, working with clubs, running age group programmes and offering professional coaching. Otago Cricket would like to acknowledge the generous support we receive from trusts and the role that they play in the operation of Otago Cricket. All four are extremely spectator friendly with comfortable grass embankments, scenic surrounds and quality facilities.

The Otago A team is also a development opportunity for selected players to benchmark against first class cricketers and to prepare in an environment which is aligned to the Otago Volts program in terms of culture, skill development, tactics and selection. Coach Rob Walter has today named his side to take on the Central Stags in the third round of the plunked Shield beginning this Saturday at the University of Otago Oval. We focus on skill development while also playing cricket based games and activates. This weeks team sees three changes made to the side with the return of Jimmy Neesham, Michael Bracewell and Amaru Kitchen. The Coaching a Cricket Team course is for the coach, parent, teacher or volunteer involved with a primary, intermediate or junior club team or a year 9 10 secondary school or club youth team. We also must grow our bottom of female cricketers and ultimately donate female only cricket competition
