The Otago Aero Club is the oldest aero club in New Zealand dating back to 1927. The Otago Aero Club is run by its own members who are all very keen aviation enthusiasts. Many of our members have been flying here for years and can provide a lot of invaluable experience and tips for any pilot. The Otago Aero Club has been providing GA Flight Instruction to our membership for many years.
Our team of highly experienced flight instructors have many thousands of hours local flying experience. The Otago Aero Club has been providing GA Flight Instruction to our membership for many years. Our team of highly experienced flight instructors have many thousands of hours local flying experience. The instructors come from a range of backgrounds with different flying experiences giving you more opportunities and skills to take advantage of. Our professional and friendly instructors will ensure you enjoy your experience at the Otago Aero Club.
The Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand is the regulatory body which exists to govern aviation in New Zealand and ensure aviation safety. With Over 25 combined flying hours achieved by the cadets over the two days, everyone went away with a great sense of achievement. With lunch provided, an array of interesting aircraft around and the museum open it made for a truly great day

Once you have decided that microlight flying is the path you wish to take, you will start flight training towards your beginning solo flight where you will be awarded your Novice Certificate. The Otago Afro Club is run by its own members who are all very keen aviation enthusiasts.
Earlier exercising the privileges of their license all pilots must ensure they hold a current medical, current BR biennial flight review and are current on the aircraft type they intend to fly. You can start the process with a U Fly experience in the club microlight around the Dunedin City area. Our professional and sociable instructors will ensure you enjoy your experience at the Otago Afro Club. Our Light Sport Aircraft, the RV 12 is a recreation to fly, fantastically mirth and astoundingly affordable at only 75 for 30 minutes flight time. Otago Afro Club have a team of friendly qualified microlight instructors available who can take you through the SAC license process.
The important variety of terrain ranging from beaches, valleys, hills, mountains and plains all within 15 minutes flying time, make the Otago Afro Club the ideal deposit to learn to fly. We present training for Private and Commercial Pilots licenses as well as basic to advanced Light Sport Instruction. They will ensure you get the most from your flying experience no matter if you want a single U Fly experience or a stuffed Advanced Microlight Certificate. You're training will include at least 50 hours total flying experience 35 hours of Solo flying progress from Basic to more Advanced Flying skills cross country navigation experience around Southern New Zealand. Our two beater Cessna 152 provides a vast one on one experience starting at only 120 for 30 minutes flight time.
Then you can start active towards your Intermediate Certificate and Passenger Rating which allows you to start your irritable country training. With Over 25 combined flying hours achieved by the cadets over the two days, everyone went away with a vast sense of achievement.
