What you should know about Bike Otago
We’re Dunedin’s only independent bike shop, and we focus on service, repair, and custom builds. Most importantly though, we’re enthusiasts about everything bike related if you need some honest advice or just a chat about bikes, we’re the people to talk to. A bike shop is only as good as its staff, and here at Bike Otago, we think we've got a pretty great combination. Once upon a time, Kashi was a professional cyclist competing at the highest level of racing in road, cyclocross, and mountain biking, the latter being his main focus. After competing in thirteen consecutive mountain biking World Championships and representing New Zealand in three Olympic Games, Kashi returned to his hometown of Dunedin and now shares his experiences and passion through Bike Otago.
Mel has been running the books for Bike Otago since Kashi took over in 2013, and sometimes we think she’s the only reason we’re still here. While she might describe her work duties as everything, most times you’ll catch Mel running the website, making sure all of our orders are in order, and dealing with a shop full of men who still act like boys. So, we brought Mel’s husband Jeremy on as a full time mechanic as well as manage the shop. He’s earned a huge local following including the entire local downhill fraternity, a whole bunch of interesting’ electric bikers, and many other regulars who keep coming back for the Ginger Ninja

At the begin of everything and the origin of our sport there is and everlasting will be the trail. All of our bikes are available for demo rides, and we'd love to talk to you about which bike would be superior for you. A complete kit for the rider with speed in mind.
