What you should know about azurli skin care, balancing science & soul
We manufacture a range of natural skin care products that is truly quite uniques. Fernanada's goal was to create natural skin care that was free of hazardous ingredients, with botanical ingredients and packaging adhering to organic certification, as well as environmentally sustainable practices, and that products were not to be tested on animals. Our principal goal was to develop a holistic, natural and ethical approach to skin and soul care that reflected sustainability because we value the world around us. We care for our wellbeing and are mindful of what we use on our skin, as this is the largest organ of our body, but we are equally protective of our environment. No synthetic or petrochemical derived ingredients are used in any of our products.
It was always intended to attain organic certification for our ranges despite the cost. This is not so much a benefit for the skin but rather to the person using the products, as Reiki is a form of energy healing, being calming and relaxing. In essence our objective was to encourage users to take a few minutes each day, while applying the products, to recognize how special they are and how good they feel. But above all, we wanted to develop a unique global holistic, natural, ethical NZ brand hence starting with an online retailing method.
Where are we located? We are based in Mosgiel, a small town outside Dunedin, in the unspoilt Southern reaches of New Zealand. Our customers are truly global, as apart from our loyal New Zealand based customers, our products are sent to Europe, USA and Australia. Our Team Our team comprises of Fernanda as the leader, formulator and developer, together with the help of two staff, Robyn and Doreen. We also have a very special relationship with Doug and Ruth of Positive Signs in Mosgiel
Raised in Portugal she studied at the University of Cape Town completing a PhD in molecular medical microbiology.
She then moved to New Zealand in 199 as a scientist for the University of Otago. At the same time Fernanda began developing her own holistic skin care range. Her holistic approach to skin, body and soul care is an extension of how she sees the world around her. Between idea and product there was a period of intense revision of published research on botanical ingredient benefits in skin care, as well as the emerging research on a variety of energy healing approaches ranging from yoga, meditation, Reiki and reconnective healing. Much attention was given to distilling information on harmful ingredients that are used in personal care products, as well as on sustainable harvesting of beneficial ingredients, and manufacturing processes that are least likely to harm the environment.
This philosophy extended to adherence to organic certification of personal products, and became our motivation to obtain full organic natural certification for all our products. The last 6 months prior to launching Fernanda concentrated solely on product production and marketing. A number of other products not in these ranges such as body and hand products have also been developed. We started primarily as an online business, but given the tactile nature of skin care the need for physical retailers soon became apparent
